Invisalign®

At Dental Arts Group, we believe that a beautiful, straightened smile is a powerful thing—a characteristic that enhances both health and self-confidence. While orthodontics is beneficial for many patients, some may be reluctant to undergo traditional treatment due to discomfort, inconvenience, messy impressions, or aesthetic concerns; fortunately, our treatment gives them a clear solution—one that will keep them smiling and thriving throughout treatment!

Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic system that utilizes clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth without the need for metal brackets or wires. At Dental Arts Group, our unique abilities, combined with our commitment to patient satisfaction, make us the ideal choice for Invisalign treatment in Philadelphia, PA. Keep reading to learn more about Invisalign, the process, benefits, and whether you’re a candidate!

What Is Invisalign®?

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that utilizes a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gently shift teeth into their desired position. Invisalign aligners are customized to fit the unique contours of each patient’s mouth, providing a comfortable and secure fit.

These aligners are made of a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack, which was developed specifically for Invisalign. The material is durable, flexible, and virtually invisible when worn, making it a popular choice for people who want to straighten their teeth without the look of traditional metal braces. SmartTrack is also free of BPA, BPS, latex, and gluten—making it safe for those with allergies or sensitivities.

The Invisalign® Process

  • The Invisalign process starts with a consultation in our office. During this consultation, our team will evaluate your oral health and determine whether Invisalign is the right choice for you.
  • If you’re a candidate for Invisalign, we will take digital impressions of your teeth using a 3D scanner. No messy, gooey impressions—our digital scanner produces precise scans in seconds! These impressions will be used to create a customized treatment plan that maps out the movement of your teeth over time.
  • You’ll receive a series of aligners, each of which you’ll wear for about two weeks before switching to the next in the set. You’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day for the treatment to be effective.
  • Most patients will need to wear aligners for about 12 to 18 months, but treatment time varies depending on your individual needs.

The Benefits Of Invisalign®

Invisalign offers a range of benefits over traditional braces. One of the most significant advantages of Invisalign is that the aligners are virtually invisible, making them a discreet and convenient way to straighten your teeth. Here are some of the other benefits of Invisalign:

  • Comfortable: Invisalign aligners are smooth and comfortable to wear, without any metal brackets or wires that can cause irritation or discomfort. Unlike traditional braces, which can be painful and irritating, Invisalign aligners are made of lightweight, smooth material that won’t cause discomfort or soreness.
  • Mess-free: Invisalign does not utilize gooey clay for impressions and takes the mess out of the orthodontic preparation! Plus, you can keep your smile more hygienic by removing aligners for eating. No need to floss around pesky wires!
  • Removable: Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment. This is a significant advantage over traditional braces, which can be difficult to clean and maintain.
  • Efficient: Invisalign treatment typically takes less time than traditional braces, with most patients seeing results in 12–18 months. This is because the aligners are custom-molded to fit your teeth precisely, ensuring accurate and effective tooth movement.
  • Confidence-boosting: Straightening your teeth with Invisalign can improve your smile and boost your self-confidence. With straight teeth, you’ll feel more comfortable smiling and interacting with others, which can have a positive impact on your social and professional life.
  • No food restrictions: With Invisalign, there are no restrictions on what you can eat, since the aligners can be removed for meals. This means you can continue to enjoy your favorite foods and drinks without worrying about damaging your braces.
  • Convenient: Invisalign requires fewer office visits than traditional braces, with appointments typically scheduled every six to eight weeks. This makes it a convenient option for busy patients who want to achieve a beautiful smile without sacrificing too much time or disrupting their daily routines.

Am I A Candidate For Invisalign®?

Invisalign can be an effective treatment option for a wide range of orthodontic issues—including crowded teeth, gaps between teeth, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. However, not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. Our team will need to evaluate your oral health and current orthodontic condition to determine whether Invisalign is the right choice for you. In general, Invisalign is most effective for mild to moderate orthodontic problems.
