Dentist Near Westmont

Convenient Access from Westmont

Most Westmont patients reach Dental Arts Group in about 8 minutes, heading north through Cherry Hill into Pennsauken Township. If you need a dentist near Westmont for a toothache, a cracked filling or a long-overdue cleaning, our dentists and in-house endodontist handle it in one office. Westmont is the downtown section of Haddon Township in Camden County, and the drive north follows county roads the whole way.

From the Westmont PATCO station at 100 Stoy Avenue, follow Stoy Avenue to Haddon Township's own Maple Avenue (County Route 642), then turn left onto Grove Street, which runs along the edge of Cooper River Park. Grove Street becomes Haddonfield Road, which carries you north through Cherry Hill for most of the trip. In Pennsauken, turn left onto a different Maple Avenue, County Route 537, and the office is at 7675 Maple Ave, Pennsauken, NJ 08109, just west of Haddonfield Road. Expect about 4 miles door to door, and our Google Maps pin will guide you the rest of the way.

Patients from Haddonfield and Golden Triangle come up the same Haddonfield Road corridor, and their pages describe those drives.

Why Westmont Commuters Choose an Office Off Haddonfield Road

Transit shapes daily life in Westmont. The PATCO park-and-ride station on Stoy Avenue carries riders into Philadelphia, and Haddon Avenue holds the Haddon Township municipal building and the historic Westmont Theater, which now houses a gym. For anyone whose workday starts and ends on the train, a dentist near the job in Philadelphia can mean a rushed lunch-hour visit, while an office close to home fits around the commute instead.

That is where a nearby office helps. Dental Arts Group sits off the same Haddonfield Road that Westmont drivers already use to reach Cherry Hill, so a visit does not mean learning a new route. Monday hours run until 7:00 PM, which gives PATCO riders one evening each week to come in after getting off the train.

Haddon Township has plenty of green space as well. Newton Lake Park, with its bike paths and fishing piers, runs through Haddon Township toward Collingswood and Oaklyn, and Cooper River Park lines the route north on Grove Street. Our office is a short drive past that green space.

The rest of the week starts early, at 8:00 AM Tuesday through Friday. Those morning slots work well for patients who can start work a little late, or who drive in rather than ride. Fridays end at 1:30 PM, and the office is closed on weekends.

When a Westmont Toothache Turns Into a Root Canal Question

Sensitivity that lingers after hot coffee or a cold drink, pain when you bite down, swelling in the gum or a tooth that has turned darker can all point to an infection inside the tooth. These are the signs our Endodontics page lists, and they are worth having checked rather than waiting out.

Help for that kind of problem is close by. Our in-house endodontist, Dr. Chiara Y. Quick, completed her endodontic residency at Temple University and is board certified. Our Cavity Repair page notes that root canal therapy is usually a single visit with local anesthesia, and a digital ceramic crown can follow to protect the tooth.

New patients with an urgent problem may begin with a focused emergency exam, then complete The DAG Comprehensive Exam once the pain is under control. The full exam adds a periodontal check, an oral cancer screening and a review of existing fillings and crowns, so the next problem is caught early.

Saving the natural tooth comes first. Dr. Sonal Patel recommends long-term treatment options that help keep teeth in place, and she recommends dental implants when a tooth cannot be saved. When an implant is the answer, the implant learning center offers a free consultation to walk through the steps and the timeline.

Treatment Options From a Dentist Near Westmont

  • Endodontics

Root canal therapy, retreatment of an older root canal, and pulpotomy or pulpectomy for children's baby teeth. Westmont patients see our board-certified endodontist without a referral to another office.

  • Cavity Repair

White composite fillings handle most cavities, and zirconium or lithium disilicate crowns rebuild teeth that are cracked or heavily filled. Crowns also protect teeth after a root canal.

  • Implants & Dentures

A tooth lost to a failed root canal or a deep fracture can be replaced with a titanium post, an abutment and a custom restoration. For several missing teeth, the options include partial, full and implant-supported dentures.

  • Healthy Gums

Gum screenings, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance keep gum disease from advancing. Adults with bleeding gums can start with a screening.

  • Cavity & Disease Prevention

Routine checkups, cleanings and digital x-rays catch problems before they turn into emergencies. Oral cancer screening is part of this service as well.

Meet Your Pennsauken Dentists

Day-to-day care comes from Dr. Sonal Patel and Dr. Alejandra Hernandez, our two general dentists. Dr. Hernandez first became interested in dentistry while volunteering as a translator on medical trips to rural communities. Dr. Quick, our endodontist, developed her interest in emergency dental medicine during a general practice residency at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Insurance & Financing

The office works with PPO plans and does not take HMO, DMO, Medicaid or Medicare coverage. Some plans, including Colonial Life, Lincoln Financial and Mutual of Omaha, are in network through a third party. New patients without coverage can start with the $69 Exam & X-Ray special.

I have been going here for years! The hygienist is the best. I never have any discomfort when cleaning and he does a great job. The doctor has taken over this practice and she is so nice, very thorough and up-to-date on the latest technology and procedures! My kids have tried other dentists and prefer Dental Arts Group in Pennsauken!

Sharon M.

Very understanding team. I highly recommend them. They are a fine group of people.

Dolly M.

I recently had my first cleaning at Dental Arts Group in Pennsauken and the experience was fantastic. I asked them about an issue with my gums. I have been asking dentists for years and for the first time ever I got an actual answer! They took the time to actually sit down and teach me about my mouth and what I can do better. Even cooler, they take high resolution pictures with this cool camera of any potential problem areas so that at my next cleaning they can compare to see if it’s getting better. I feel like I’m in such great hands here I will definitely be back!

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Dental Arts Group from Westmont, and how do I get there?

From Westmont, Dental Arts Group is about 4 miles away, usually an 8-minute drive. Take Stoy Avenue and Haddon Township's Maple Avenue to Grove Street, follow it north as it becomes Haddonfield Road, then turn left on Maple Avenue in Pennsauken. It is a simple trip for anyone who needs a dentist near Westmont without crossing a bridge.

Can a tooth that already had a root canal be treated again?

Yes, endodontic retreatment is one of the services on our Endodontics page. It is an option when a tooth treated years ago starts to hurt, swell or show infection again. Dr. Chiara Y. Quick, our board-certified endodontist, handles retreatment in the same office, and a new crown can protect the tooth afterward.

What does the $69 exam special include?

The $69 Exam & X-Ray special includes a full oral health exam, all standard x-rays and treatment recommendations. It is open to new patients only. The special suits someone with a dental emergency as well as someone who has not had a checkup in years and wants to know where things stand.

Do you accept HMO or Medicaid dental plans?

No. Dental Arts Group does not take HMO, DMO, Medicaid or Medicare plans, but it does work with PPO plans. Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, Guardian and Horizon BCBS are among the PPOs in network. Patients without a PPO can look at the DAG Prime membership plan or CareCredit and Sunbit financing.

Can I make an evening appointment after riding PATCO home from Philadelphia?

Yes, on Mondays, when the office stays open until 7:00 PM. From the Westmont station the drive takes about 8 minutes, though rush hour on Haddonfield Road adds time. If Monday evenings do not work, early appointments start at 8:00 AM Tuesday through Friday, before most commutes begin.
