Dr. Leyla Abdulhay
General Dentist
Dr. Leyla Abdulhay earned her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College, graduating cum laude with a B.A. in chemistry and biochemistry. An avid fan of anything “science” related, she became the first dentist in her family by graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top dental schools in the world. She continued her training with a General Practice Residency at St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network, where she focused on dental implants, dental emergencies, pediatrics, and oral surgery. She completed anesthesia, oral surgery, emergency medicine, and family medicine rotations. Her hospital training has come in very handy at times!
With over 14 years of experience, she enjoys working with patients to discover the best course of action, clinically and financially, to arrive at a pain-free, beautiful, and healthy result. Dr. Abdulhay has earned her reputation among patients as “barely feeling the needle or anything at all” throughout the duration of a procedure. She strives to provide comfortable dentistry, combined with cosmetically appealing and high-quality dentistry intended to last for years.
During her time practicing in other locations prior to moving to South Jersey, she was selected among the ‘Top Select Dentists’ by her peers in Lehigh Valley, PA. Dr. Abdulhay has also lectured with the Nobel Biocare implant company to provide implant training courses for other dentists. In addition to receiving excellent continuing education training through the American Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and other implant and dental organizations, she has participated in charitable causes to give dentistry back to the community, most notably “MOM in PA”. Dr. Abdulhay currently maintains both New Jersey and Pennsylvania licenses.
In her free time, she loves exploring the local brunch and restaurant spots in South Jersey. She loves spending time with her fiance, new baby niece and nephew, and friends and family locally. Her favorite recent discoveries are the Palmyra Nature Preserve and Turning Point for brunch, but she’s always open to trying out new places and making new connections and friends! Dr. Abdulhay is looking forward to getting to know the Gloucester City community better as time goes on!
Dr. Mostafa Alwakeel

Dr. Mostafa Alwakeel is proud to bring his extensive expertise and passion for patient care to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Dental Arts Group. With a solid foundation in general dentistry and advanced training in oral surgery, he is committed to providing comprehensive, cutting-edge surgical solutions for patients of all ages.
Dr. Alwakeel combines technical precision with an artistic touch to create smiles that are both functional and beautiful, ensuring each patient’s experience is positive and transformative. Known for his compassionate bedside manner, he strives to make every patient feel valued and at ease. Dr. Alwakeel believes in fostering a collaborative treatment environment, working closely with patients to ensure their concerns are addressed and their goals are met.
Dr. Alwakeel’s journey in oral surgery spans continents and reflects his unwavering commitment to excellence. After earning a master’s degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, he continued his education in Los Angeles, CA, completing an Advanced Surgical Implant Dentistry Fellowship at UCLA. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University, graduating summa cum laude.
This extensive education has earned him prestigious recognition, including the Academy of Osseointegration’s award for outstanding achievement in implant dentistry.
Dr. Alwakeel’s dedication extends beyond the clinic. His quick thinking and medical expertise have twice been acknowledged by American Airlines, where he received official thanks for providing life-saving assistance to passengers experiencing cardiac emergencies in-flight. These acts underscore his instinctive compassion and commitment to helping others in any situation.
Dr. Alwakeel’s expertise allows him to offer a wide array of services, including surgical dental implants, full-arch implant surgery, wisdom teeth removal, cosmetic periodontal and gum surgery, bone grafting, sinus lifts, and biopsies. He is affiliated with University Hospital in Newark, a level-one trauma center, where he treats facial trauma and oral surgery emergencies. He is also affiliated with Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where he performs elective oral surgery procedures.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Alwakeel serves as an assistant professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he plays a vital role in mentoring future dental professionals. As a teaching faculty member, he takes great pride in mentoring residents and dental students, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience in oral surgery and dental implants.
